Who Are We?

The Jumbulance Trust makes accessible travel possible. We are a non-profit offering group hire and organising trips across the UK and Europe using our custom-built Jumbulance coaches.

Each coach is designed for comfort and accessibility, with space for up to 6 wheelchairs or stretchers, lift access, wide interiors, accessible toilets, and on-board kitchens. Our experienced drivers ensure every journey runs smoothly.

We exist to make a difference in the world of travel. With decades of experience, we’re driven by compassion, community, and a commitment to providing meaningful experiences.

We also offer rewarding volunteer opportunities for those who want to be part of something special. Whether you're joining as a traveller or volunteer, we aim to create lasting memories and a warm, welcoming environment for everyone on board.

The Role

To provide practical and emotional support to assisted travellers during a short break to the Netherlands (7-11 April 2026), ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and included throughout the experience. This includes:

  • Supporting a passenger which may include personal care such as washing, dressing, and using the toilet, communication and mobility.
  • Medication support where required
  • Helping with mealtimes as needed
  • Joining in with group activities and day trips

No prior care experience?

That’s fine, we provide full training.

Could this trip be your first step toward gaining valuable experience in the health and care sector?

There is an expectation for volunteers to fundraise £850 towards the cost of their place. Every penny helps make this trip happen, and we’ll provide ideas and resources to help you reach your target. We reimburse out of pocket travel expenses from home to the pick up point. What is included:

  • Initial training in care, safeguarding and manual handling
  • Travel on board The Jumbulance, half board accommodation.
  • Day trips

Pick up points will be agreed nearer to the trip, when we know where the assisted travellers live.

What skills do I need?

  • Most important is a caring attitude, teamwork, and willingness to get involved.
  • Good Communication skills
  • Previous care experience is not essential
  • Basic BSL would be an advantage, but not essential
