Monday Cooking Assistant

Who Are We?

Phoenix Stroke Club is a small, friendly local charity supporting stroke survivors from the surrounding area. We provide a variety of sessions and activities where members can meet others who have experienced similar challenges, build friendships, and enjoy a fun and welcoming day together.

The Role

On Mondays, our members spend around 5½ hours at the club, making it an important part of their week. Having a warm, freshly prepared meal together is a particularly important part of the day — it gives everyone a chance to sit down, eat together and enjoy some good company.

We are looking for a volunteer cooking assistant who could spare some time on a Monday to help in the kitchen. You don't need to be a professional cook. Any help in the kitchen would be appreciated, whether that's preparing ingredients, helping with cooking, serving lunch or simply keeping things organised.

Lunch is usually served at around 12pm, and you would be working alongside our friendly team of staff and volunteers. You will be fully supported, and we will show you what needs to be done and help with anything you need.

What would you be doing?

• Helping prepare and cook lunch for our members.
• Assisting with food preparation and serving.
• Helping keep the kitchen organised.
• Working as part of our friendly volunteer team.
• Most importantly, helping make lunchtime a warm and enjoyable part of our members' day.

You don't need lots of experience — just a willingness to help, a friendly attitude and, ideally, an enjoyment of cooking and being around people. Phoenix Stroke Club is a lovely community, and volunteering with us can be incredibly rewarding. You will be helping our members enjoy an important part of their day while becoming part of a friendly and supportive community yourself.
