Local Government Liaison Assistant and Business Case Makers

Who Are We?

The British Regional Transport Association (BRTA) is a voluntary membership-based, pro-public transport improvement association. Line re-openings is right up our street in advocacy, campaigning and nurturing congenial agreement and resolution, bringing people together and making common cause.

The Role

The BRTA is looking for a Local Government Liaison Assistant and a Business Case Maker whose duties include the following:

• Covering the liaison role with local government
• Canvassing councillors
• Getting local councils to support BRTA, its goals and schemes pro-affirmatively and court their lead on them to take on to the next stages e.g. Westminster backing and funding/study/working up and delivery.
• Interjecting to consultations, attend meetings and exhibitions
• Attending delegated meetings as and when with select other BRTA members
• Training an assistant to the role or build a team and feed into membership, forums and associated BRTA networks.
