Who Are We?

The Jumbulance Trust makes accessible travel possible. We are a non-profit offering group hire and organising trips across the UK and Europe using our custom-built Jumbulance coaches.

Each coach is designed for comfort and accessibility, with space for up to 6 wheelchairs or stretchers, lift access, wide interiors, accessible toilets, and on-board kitchens. Our experienced drivers ensure every journey runs smoothly.

We exist to make a difference in the world of travel. With decades of experience, we’re driven by compassion, community, and a commitment to providing meaningful experiences.

The Role

Keep the Wheels Moving - Become a Trustee with Jumbulance Trust!

At Jumbulance Trust, keeping the wheels moving means far more than maintaining vehicles. It means opening up the world to people with disabilities and complex medical needs, enabling safe, joyful day trips and holidays that would otherwise be out of reach.

We are now looking for new trustees to help keep those wheels turning, strategically, safely and inclusively.

We are particularly keen to recruit trustees who can support the Trust in one or more of the following areas:

  • Finance - to help oversee financial sustainability and planning
  • Clinical - to bring a healthcare perspective and support safe practice. This role is ideal for someone with experience in healthcare, nursing and allied health professions
  • Governance - to strengthen policies, compliance, best practice and trustee effectiveness
  • Disability & Accessibility - to champion inclusion, accessibility and lived experience

You don’t need previous trustee experience. We welcome first time trustees as well as those with Board experience.

What’s involved:

  • Contribute to strategic decision making at Board level
  • Help ensure Jumbulance Trust remains safe, sustainable and inclusive
  • Attend Board meetings (mostly online) and occasional working groups
  • Act as an ambassador for the Trust and our values
  • Term of office: 3 years

Most activity takes place remotely, making this role accessible and flexible. Optional in person involvement may be available but is not essential.

What skills do I need?

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Care about disability rights, access and inclusion
  • Enjoy constructive discussion and strategic thinking
  • Want to use your skills to make a meaningful difference
  • Are happy working collaboratively as part of a supportive Board
