Who we are.
4Sight Vision Support are the leading sight loss charity supporting the visually impaired community of West Sussex, offering holistic and person-centred services with a commitment to ensuring that a diagnosis of sight loss is not a one-way road to loss of independence and isolation. Horsham Visually Impaired group are a social group with guest speakers and occasional outings.
The Role
Clayton 4Sight Club are looking for a joint group leader to help organise and run a social club for visually impaired people with support from 4Sight Vision Support Head Office. The club is every two weeks on a Wednesday from 10am to 2pm.
A full volunteer role description available. Tasks include : arrange speakers / games / quizzes for attendees / arrange occasional outings e.g. pub lunch / afternoon tea. Follow 4Sight Vision Support financial procedures for clubs. Set up venue before session and ensure venue is secure at end. Oversee volunteer club helpers delegating tasks e.g. making refreshments.
We are seeking a friendly person with the passion to make a positive difference to people with sight loss. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team and with vulnerable people is essential. Well organised, trustworthy, friendly and self-motivated is key due to the nature of this role.
