Who Are We?
Southern Sighthound Rescue (SSR) is a volunteer run Registered Charity based in the West Sussex countryside in Barns Green, near Horsham. Founded in 2023, we find forever homes for retired racing Greyhounds as well as Whippets, Lurchers and any other Sighthound breeds who need our help. Most of the hounds that come into our care have yet to be neutered and may also need other veterinary treatment. Our team of volunteers fundraise to cover these and all of our other day to day running costs. We always need volunteers to help with fundraising and you can commit as much, or as little time as you wish. You could be helping on a stall at a dog show, serving tea at one of our craft fairs, baking a cake or maybe knitting or sewing something to be sold on our stalls or in one of our hugely popular Facebook auctions. Our fundraising volunteers stay in touch with each other via a small, friendly, WhatsApp group.
The Role
We are looking for individuals who have the time to help with our fundraising activities.
This can include manning a stall at a local fete, making items we can sell or approaching organisations for donations, and more!
You would be part of an online WhatsApp group of like-minded individuals to come up with fundraising ideas, or offer your services to help out with events.
Time commitment can be as much or as little as you want.
