Who Are We?

We’re a local charity with a big ambition: to help everyone face death informed, supported and pain free. Providing expert hospice care, we’re there for people in West Sussex and East Surrey when life comes full circle.

We also pioneer standards in end of life care through collaboration, research and training, reaching even more people facing death and bereavement.

The Role

Our busy Crawley superstore is the central point for all our fantastic donations. As a Volunteer Superstore Donation Drop-Off Assistant, you’ll be the friendly face welcoming donors at the backdoor of our superstore. You’ll help unload donations from cars, offer a warm thank-you, and ensure items are safely received and sorted for processing. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being active, meeting people, and making a real difference in their community.

What you will be doing:

  • Welcoming donors as they arrive at the backdoor of the superstore
  • Helping unload donated items from vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Managing Traffic Safely
  • Discussing gift aid with donors
  • Thanking donors and offering a friendly, helpful service
  • Sorting and moving donations to the appropriate area for processing
  • Ensuring the delivery area is always kept clean, tidy and safe
  • This is a physical role so a good level of fitness is required

  • Good communication skills
  • A Good level of fitness and mobility - moving equipment and extended time on your feet are all core parts of this role

  • Commitment to undertake any training required for the role including a mixture of face-to-face training and e-learning as required for the role
