Who Are We?

1st Pulborough and Bury Scout Group is the local Scout Group for Pulborough. We have five sections (Pulborough Beavers, Pulborough Cubs, Bury Cubs, Bury Scouts and Pulborough Sea Scouts) who offer a diverse and interesting programme to local young people ages 6 to 14. We are always happy to receive new members, and are always keen to receive offers of help in different forms from the community.

The Role:

The Chair will lead our Scout Group Exec, ensuring that it fulfils its responsibilities within the Group, District and County/Area/Region. The Chair will work closely with the Group Scout Leader/ relevant Commissioner to achieve the purpose of The Scout Association through the development of local Scouting, in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association.

This is a non-uniformed role (unless you want one!) and the minimum time requirements are particularly low. No knowledge of scouting is required, just a will to make a difference for young people in our area.

There aren't any specific weekly dates, the role fits with your needs. The Exec meet once every couple of months via Zoom, generally on a Monday evening for around 90 minutes. Every year we have an AGM, lead by the Chairperson - the date is set by the Chair and Exec.
