Who Are We?

Storrington and District Museum is the repository for artefacts, photographs and information with a connection to Storrington and the surrounding villages of Amberley, Ashington, Bury, Cootham, Greatham, Rackham, Parham, Sullington, Thakeham, Washington and Wiggonholt. Its aim is to collect these items so that are preserved for all time and are available for everyone to see.


The Role:

Flexible to suit skills, interests and time available but at least would include:

  • Chairing monthly meetings
  • Providing leadership to a group of volunteers
  • Acting as a figurehead for the Museum Charity and interfacing with third parties in the Storrington Community
  • Taking on the role of Museum Trustee as defined by The Charities Commission

What skills do I need?

  • Leadership
  • Organisational Skills
  • Public Speaking
  • Experience of Project Management would also be helpful

Availability Details

The Chairman is required to attend monthy committee meetings of two hours. In addition there may be Museum events or meetings with third parties where the Chairman is required to attend. Depending on time available there are many other aspects of the Museum's work where the Chairman could be involved
