For Amberley Museum
Who Are We?
Amberley Museum brings to life the industrial and transport heritage of Sussex and allows you to explore exhibits dating back to the 19th century.
The Role:
At Amberley Museum we are proud to offer volunteering opportunities to people from all walks of life, including those who need some additional support to volunteer with us successfully.
To help with this, our ambition is to appoint a Volunteer Access Partner for each of the Museum's thirty volunteer group areas, as well as for the nine independent craft businesses at the Museum.
Volunteer Access Partners will support with new volunteer recruitment in their group area, particularly when someone with additional needs expresses an interest in volunteering, as well as offering some ongoing support for those new volunteers (and their key support people) if needed. For example, as a Volunteer Access Partner you might provide extra help to a new volunteer with learning disabilities by regularly meeting them off the train and helping them get started on their volunteering task.
If you think you would be able to help us as a Volunteer Access Partner, and would like to find out more about volunteering at Amberley Museum, please do get in touch.
Empathy is the main quality someone needs for this role, but any experience you have of supporting somebody with a disability could also be helpful.
